Wa'alaykum Assalam Warahmatullah, These are the references I have for it: Al-Bukhari, Al-'Adabul-Mufrad no. 761. See Al-Albani, Sahih Al-'Adabul-Mufrad (no. 585). The portion between brackets if from Al-Bayhaqi, Shu'ab Al-Iman 4/228. Sh. Navaid also referenced Imam Bukhari's al Adab: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aKzBipK-ds Not sure why I didn't add that in the source when posting, but I think I said Bukhari as the author source, not referencing his Sahih to attribute it to the Prophet (salallahu 'alayhi wasallam). Yes, many reports suggest it is the saying of Abu Bakr (radhi'allahu 'anhu). عن الأصمعى قال : كان أبو بكر إذا مدح قال اللهم أنت أعلم منى بنفسى وأنا أعلم بنفسى منهم اللهم اجعلنى خيرا مما يظنون واغفر لى ما لا يعلمون ولا تؤاخذنى بما يقولون (العسكرى فى المواعظ) [كنز العمال 35704] أخرجه أيضًا : البيهقى فى شعب الإيمان (4/228 ، رقم 4876) . قلت : لم أقف عليه في الشعب منسوبا للصديق ). وجاء في مصنف ابن أبي شيبة - (ج 7 / ص 242)

Waiyyakum As have I. SubhanAllah, I look for resources on this topic whenever I go to a conference or book store. Many of the books I bought thinking they would be specifically about the 99 names, were all mostly about Tawheed and Aqeedah in general. I'm also fairly cautious when looking for resources on this topic because some people have very stretched out imaginations when it comes to Allah's attributes. I have a friend who works on a series about the 99 names and it's a great start, imo.
